 Данное средство обладает тропностью к железистой ткани, особенно к молочным железам. Железы обычно уплотнены, воспалены и чрезвычайно болезненны. Боль значительно усиливается при любом движении. Слизистая оболочка ротовой полости может быть темно-красного или синюшного цвета; такого же цвета могут быть воспаленные участки в области молочных желез. Состояние, соответствующее Phytolacca, может развиться после длительного пребывания вне дома в холодную и сырую погоду. Животные с симптомами Phytolacca часто равнодушны к жизни и могут отказываться от еды, хотя и не выглядят тяжелобольными.
 Неполноценное молоко, маститы. У данного средства отмечается резко выраженная тропность к заболеваниям молочных желез. Для Phytolacca характерна выраженная болезненность молочных желез при прикосновении, их уплотнение и пурпурный цвет кожи. Воспаление такого типа протекает медленно. Боли могут быть настолько сильными, что животные жалобно стонут. Для данного средства характерно возникновение мастита после переохлаждения.
