 Анализ крови на сиаловые кислоты является показателем активности воспалительного процесса в организме. Референсные значения содержания сиаловых кислот в сыворотке крови составляют 2‒2,33 ммоль/л. Повышенные показатели ожидаются при ревматических заболеваниях (ревматоидном артрите, полиартрите, ревматизме), болезнях накопления, онкологических и онкогематологических заболеваниях. Снижение значений характерно для в12-дефицитной анемии, болезни Вильсона. Анализ выполняется ферментативным колориметрическим методом. Стоимость складывается из венепункции и лабораторного исследования.
