Interactions Calcium-D3 Nycomed with Pikovit Omega 3
-
Dangerous interactions
- With hypervitaminosis of vitamin D3, it is possible to enhance the action of cardiac glycosides and increase the risk of arrhythmia due to the development of hypercalcemia (it is advisable to control the concentration of calcium in the blood, electrocardiograms, as well as dose adjustment of cardiac glycoside).
- Long-term use of antacids containing aluminum and magnesium in combination with vitamin D3 may contribute to an increase in the concentration of aluminum and magnesium in the blood and, as a result, the toxic effect of aluminum on bone tissue and hypermagnesemia in patients with renal insufficiency.
- Concomitant use with other vitamin D analogues increases the risk of vitamin D hypervitaminosis.
-
Negative interactions
- Phenytoin, barbiturates, glucocorticoids reduce the effectiveness of vitamin D3.
- Colestyramine, laxatives (paraffin oil) reduce the absorption of vitamin D3.
- Simultaneous use with ion-exchange resins such as colestyramine or laxatives can reduce the absorption of vitamin D.
- The combination of calciferol calcium carbonate may increase the toxicity of cardiac glycosides.
- The patient should not take colecalciferol calcium carbonate for 2 hours after taking foods with a high content of oxalic acid (rhubarb, spinach).
- Combined use with analgesics, anticonvulsants, antacids, colestyramine, sulfonamides, antibiotics, cytostatics reduces the effect.
- Antacids, colestyramine, sulfonamides (including sulfasalazine) they reduce the absorption of folic acid.
- Antacids should be used 2 hours after taking folic acid, colestyramine 4-6 hours before or 1 hour after taking folic acid.
- Methotrexate, pyrimethamine, triamterene, trimethoprim inhibit dihydrofolate reductase and reduce the effect of folic acid (instead, patients using these drugs should be prescribed calcium folinate).
- Simultaneous use of drugs containing phosphates, calcium salts or iron ions is not recommended, since such drugs reduce the absorption of magnesium in the intestine.
- Retinol (vitamin A) (A11CA01) + Antacids and enveloping agents (almagel), vaseline oil => Attenuation of retinol.
- Drugs: Calcium-D3 Nycomed and Pikovit Omega 3 there is common active substance : Colecalciferol. Pay attention to the dosage..
- The effect is reduced by diphenin, colestyramine, and vitamin A toxicity.
- Colestyramine, colestipol and mineral oils reduce the absorption of fat‑soluble vitamins in the gastrointestinal tract and require an increase in their dose.
- Ketoconazole can inhibit both biosynthesis and catabolism of 1,25(OH)2‑colecalciferol.
- Vitamin D is an antagonist of drugs used for hypercalcemia: calcitonin, ethidronate, pamidronate, plicamycin, gallium nitrate.
- Drugs containing high concentrations of calcium and phosphorus increase the risk of hyperphosphatemia.
-
No interactions
- Vitamin D3 does not interact with food.
-
Positive interactions
- When used simultaneously with vitamin A, the toxicity of vitamin D decreases.
-
Unclear interactions
- Vitamin E + Calcium carbonate+Colecalciferol analgin and citramon are used together in Ostalon Calcium-D.
- During the course of treatment with GCS, it may be necessary to increase the dose of the combination of colecalciferol + calcium carbonate.
- The use of a combination of calcium carbonate colecalciferol simultaneously with tetracycline is possible either 2 hours before taking tetracycline, or 4-6 hours after.
- With simultaneous administration of sodium fluoride and a combination of calciferol calcium carbonate, the interval between taking the drugs should be at least 3 hours.
