Common symptoms

 The common name ‘Eye bright’ gives the indication for the use of this remedy. It affects the MUCOUS MEMBRANES; of EYES, nose, and chest, producing acute catarrh, with free, acrid, watery secretions. Tears are acrid; nasal discharge is bland. Acrid pus.

Modalities

 SUNLIGHT. WIND. Warmth. Room. Evening.
 Open air. Winking, wiping eyes.

Head, face, and ears

 Catarrhal headache with profuse discharge from the nose and eyes. вursting headache with dazzling of the eyes.
 WATERY EYES; as if swimming in tears. As of a hair before them; wants to wipe them. PROFUSE HOT OR ACRID TEARS worse open air, lying or coughing; leaving a varnish like mark. Sticky eye gum. Photophobia, with spasms of the lids. Pressive, cutting pains in the eyes. Thick acrid yellow discharge from the eyes. сonjunctivitis, with violent injection; of measles; instead of menses. сhronic sore eyes. Opacities of cornea; after injury. Red, burning, itching tarsi. сataract, with watery eyes. Pain in the eye, alternating with pain in abdomen.
 Profuse bland fluent coryza; with cough and much expectoration, less when lying down. Flat cancer on the right side of the nose.
 Stiffness of left cheek; of tongue. Upper lip stiff as if made of wood.

Gastrointestinal tract

 Vomiting from hawking mucus.
 Prostatitis. Nocturnal irritability of bladder, dribbling or urine.
 Menses; painful, flow lasts only one hour or a day. Amenorrhoea, with ophthalmia and ulcer on right side of the nose. Stitching pains and itching when walking in open air.

Chest organs

 Cough with easy expectoration, in day time only; less on lying down; at night.

Sleep

 Yawning when walking in open air.
