(Eye-bright.

(The freshly expressed juice of the whole plant mixed with equal parts of alcohol. The juice in the latter part of summer is often so viscid, that after pounding the plant to a fine pap of uniform consistence, it must generally be mixed up and diluted with some of this alcohol, in order to allow of the juice being expressed.
From the following few observations, it may be seen that the ancients did not give it either its German (Augentrost, Angl., eye-comfort.) to its Latin name without reason, and that this plant does not merit the neglect with which modern physicians treat it.
The homoeopathic physician, who for the cure of a case of disease only selects a medicine proved to cause similar symptoms in the healthy, will find the smallest portion of a drop of this juice generally too strong a dose.

(Confusion and pressure externally on the top of the head.
Much eat in the head, with aching.
Heat in the forehead with headache in the temple.
In the evening such violent dazed and bruised headache (with fluent coryza) that he was compelled to go to bed earlier than usual, and yet the headache was increased by lying (after 14 h. [Lr.
5. A long-continued, penetrating needle-prick in the right temple (after 7 h. [Lr.
Fine needle-pricks externally on the left temple (after ½ h. [Lr.

Attack for three dreams successive mornings; he wakes up at night after 3 p.m every instant, then about 6 p.m falls into a stupefied sleep, without dreams, an on awaking from this, he has pressure on the upper part of the chest, the head is giddy and heavy; at the same time he feels sick and perspiration breaks out all over him; at every, even the slightest movement, the vertigo increases, inclining him to fall sideways; all the limbs are at the same time weak and trembling; the upper part of his body seems heavy on rising, as if his legs could not support him; the attack gradually declines till noon, with loss of cheerfulness.

All the forenoon, internal chilliness, but in the afternoon (after 2 o’clock), great chilliness in both arms, which were quite cold.
