 Стул: водянистый стул черного цвета, изливается потоком. Или дегтеобразный стул черного цвета. Стул со зловонным запахом. Перед дефекацией: громкое урчание в животе. Сильнейшие коликообразные боли. После дефекации: острые боли режущего характера и ощущение дискомфорта в области пупка.
 Нарушение функции печени. Желтуха и дегтеобразный стул черного цвета.
 Желчная и брюшнотифозная лихорадка с характерным дегтеобразным стулом.
 Поражения печени: «Тупые ноющие боли в правой подреберной области. Боли в области желчного пузыря и задних отделах печени в сочетании с ощущением болезненной чувствительности».
 Лилиенталь (Lilienthal) выделяет жирным шрифтом такой симптом, как «диарея в военных лагерях».
