 Это лесное вьющееся растение с длинными тонкими ветками, произрастающее на полуострове декан, ассаме, в некоторых районах африки. Истолченный в порошок корень используется местным населением при укусах змей. Я упоминаю здесь это средство из-за единственного симптома, который появляется сразу после того, как человек прожует один или два листа gymn. s. (листья имеют горький, вяжущий и слегка кислый вкус): он перестает ощущать вкус сладкого и горького, эффект длится в течение нескольких часов.
