 Генодиагностика синдрома Альстрома предусматривает молекулярно-генетический анализ для выявления мутаций, вызывающих развитие наследственной патологии. Синдром вызван дисфункцией внутриклеточного транспортного белка, кодируемого геном ALMS1. Анализ может быть основан на полном секвенировании гена ALMS1 или поиске мутаций в «горячих» областях ДНК.
