Пациентов с новообразованиями почек, мочеточников, мочевого пузыря, мочеиспускательного канала, предстательной железы, яичек и полового члена направляют к онкологу для консультаций. Онколог исследует первичный диагноз рака мочеполовой системы, проверяет и оценивает раковый процесс, принимает решение о методах лечения. Такой специалист должен обладать глубокими знаниями в области урологии и андрологии, онкологии и хирургии. При первоначальном поступлении онколог объясняет историю болезни, жалобы, анализы с использованием специальных урологических методов (уретра, цистоскопия, ректальное цифровое обследование ), Рекомендует дополнительные анализы и инструментальную диагностику (ультразвук, рентген, МРТ, КТ, сцинтиграфия, биопсия).
