Description

 Mimosa humilis. Sensitive Plant. N. O. Leguminosae. Tincture of leaves.

Nosology

 Ankles, swelling of. сonjunctivitis, rheumatic. Rheumatism.

Typical features

 Mimosa is one of the remedies introduced and proved by Mure. The most notable symptoms were lancinations in the back and limbs, and swelling and redness of left ankle with tension and lancination. This last symptom has been confirmed. The sensitive plant of our hothouses is M. Pudica, but the leaves of M. humilis, says Mure, close at the least contact.

Mental

 Indolent indifference.

Head, face, and ears

 Sensation: of heat in head; as if enlarged.
 Inflammation of eyes; of left eye. Itching. Vision dim halo round candle.
 Whizzing in ears.
 Sneezing and coryza.

Mouth and throat

 Bleeding of gums. Salivation.
 11, 12. Stomach and Abdomen. Stomach-ache. - вorborygmi. Flatulent colic.

Gastrointestinal tract

 Diarrhoea. Frequent stools with colic.

Urogenital system

 Inflammatory swelling of scrotum.

Chest organs

 Dry cough in morning. Difficult breathing.

Limbs and spine

 Violent lancinations in back.
 Lancinations in legs and hands; now in arm, now in leg.
 Twitching of arm, extending to chest. Numbness of arm and right hand, ceasing on movement. Inflammatory swelling of left hand. Numbness of hands.
 Trembling of legs. Smarting pain in legs, with paralysis of knee. Stiffness of bends of knees. Swelling of left ankle, with redness, tension, and lancination.

Common symptoms

 Prostration. Pressure in nape and right temple.

Skin

 Pimples and pimply excrescences about legs and arms.

Sleep

 Yawning. Drowsy in evening, with frequent waking at night.

Fever

 Horripilation.
