Head, face, and ears

 Terrible fulness in head, as though he had taken ten or more grains of quinine.
 Conjunctiva injected, eyes presenting appearance noticed in congestion of brain.
 Pain in eyeballs running directly back to brain, worse from moving eyes.
 Pain in left eye and right knee-joint, like rheumatism ; pain in knee did not last longer than half an hour ; pain in eye became more intense, pupil becoming dilated ; two hours afterward right eye became affected.
 Conjunctivitis and purulent ophthalmia.
 Iritis, traumatic, or arising from cold or a metastasis of rheumatism ; the pain is intense and the fever runs high.
 Unbearable pain in region of liver and spleen, so severe that he cannot lie still a moment ; soreness like that of acute rheumatism.

Urogenital system

 ** Pruritus affecting vulva and vagina ; whether arising from leucorrhoea, or of venous origin, or aphtha.

Chest organs

 Fear of going to sleep on account of loss of breath, which awakens him.
 On falling asleep respiratory movement ceases, and is not resumed until awakened by the suffocation resulting.
 Mucous asthma depending on an abnormal accumulation of mucus in the smaller bronchi, tenacious and difficult to detach ; patient feels and knows that expectoration brings relief.
 Humid asthma, originating in catarrhal bronchitis.
 After an attack of pneumonia vital forces so greatly reduced that recovery was despaired of ; patient almost in a sitting position in bed, with a peculiar interrupted breathing, which entirely prevented sleep ; every time he dropped into a doze breathing would become so interrupted that he would have to be aroused ; pneumogastric nerve appeared half paralyzed and action of heart was very weak.
 Cardiac asthma.
 Cough from reflex causes ; a cough maintained by habit ; chronic bronchitis and bronchorrhoea.
 Mucus tenacious and difficult to detach.
 Chronic bronchitis, and cough with muco-purulent expectoration after pneumonia.
 Bronchitis accompanying heart disease.
 Severe cough with considerable purulent expectoration ; on examination, flatness of entire left lung ; dyspnoea. θ сhronic pneumonia.
 Cough, dyspnoea ; flatness of right lung and partial consolidation at base of lung.
 Asthma ; chronic bronchitis ; hay-fever ; pneumonia.

Limbs and spine

 Leg greatly swollen, especially about ankle-joint ; purplish-black color ; two large ulcers over tibia, two and three inches long and half an inch in depth ; abundant fetid secretion ; severe pain ; can hardly get about. θ сhronic ulceration of leg.
 Sitting position in bed ; on account of difficulty of breathing.
 Cannot lie still a moment on account of pain.
 Can hardly move on account of pain in legs.
 Moving eyes : worse pain.
 Right : pain in knee-joint ; flatness of lung.
 Left : pain in eye ; flatness of lung.

Common symptoms

 As though he had taken ten or more grains of quinine, such terrible fulness in head.
 Pain : in eyeballs ; in left eye and right knee-joint.
 Pains with soreness, like that of rheumatism.
 Unbearable pain : in region of liver and spleen.
 Severe pain : in limbs.
 Burning : of chin.
 Terrible fulness : in head.
 Soreness : in region of liver.
 Itching : of skin.

Skin

 Epidemic rash like roseola, suffusing face, neck and often whole body, with severe burning and itching.
 Irritable eruptions, papular or vesicular.
 Rhus tox. poisoning.
 Bites of insects ; flea-bites.

Patient type and constitution

 Woman, at. 48, for two years ; chronic pneumonia.
 Man, at. 60, after injury to left eye ; iritis.
 Man, at. 60, suffering for twenty years ; ulceration of leg.
 Old man, broken down with years of sickness, with organic disease of heart, just rallying from an attack of pneumonia ; paresis of pneumogastric.

 It antidotes : Rhus tox.
