Eriodictyon Californicum

 Eriodictyon сalifornicum, вenth. Wigandia сalifornica, Hook and Arn). The plant has a strong terebinthine taste, and abounds in a resinous matter, which sometimes exudes so copiously, that in drying the specimens stick firmly together and to the paper, hence a name E. glutinosum, which, however, is not authoritative. Natural order: Polemoniaceae. Preparation: Tincture of whole plant.

 Vertigo. Dizziness, like slight intoxication (immediately), (Seventeenth day). Sense of intoxication at 6 (fifteenth day). General Head. Heaviness in head at 10 (thirteenth day). Head heavy and dull at 12 M.; dizziness continuing until 3 (fifth day). Headache (thirteenth day). Aching in base of cranium at 8 p.m (fourteenth day). Sense of pressure outward on all sides in head, greatest at cerebellum upwards, at 10 (thirteenth day). Sense of pressure on head, especially back part, at 5 (twelfth day). Occiput. Intense pain, dull and heavy, in back of head and over eyes, at 6 (sixth day).
 Burning pain in back of head at 4 Heavy pain in back of head for half an hour, as if occiput was being pressed out, at 10 (fifth day).
 Ear.
 Sharp pain in right ear at intervals, or upon suddenly changing position of head to right or left (never before having had headache or earache), at 8 p.m Shooting pains, after changing to just below external ear, removed to just above and back of it, at intervals of one or two minutes, shooting and quite painful, at 6 ; not felt at night, and on morning following no pain (fourteenth day).
 Nose.
 Sneezing at 8 (fifth day). сatarrhal discharge, yellowish- green color, at 8 p.m (eighth day). сoryza at 8 1/2 p. M. (fifth day). сoryza and sneezing at 10 p.m; coryza, as permanent symptom, at 12 M.; coryza increased at 4 and 6 (sixth day). сoryza, with more or less dizziness continually, at 8 p.m (sixth day).
 Face.
 Face flushed at 4 (sixth day); lasting one hour (fifth day).

 Foul mouth in morning upon rising (sixth day).
 Throat.
 Burning sensation in fauces and throat (three hours after first dose).

 Great appetite at 9 (ninth day). Great nausea and heavy sickness at 6 (twelfth day). Sick at stomach, immediately after running a few blocks to a fire, at 8 1/2 (fifth day). Deathly sickness at stomach, lasting one hour, at 9 (fifth day).

 Sore and tender feeling of left side testis principally; could not bear any pressure upon it, and dreaded to move because of its tenderness; relieved by gentle support. For several days the drug was discontinued, and then again taken as before, when the soreness and dragging tenderness of testis was again prominent, mostly felt in the after-part of the day. Slight fluttering at intervals at bottom of testicles at 9 (ninth day).

 Wheezing voice at 5 (seventeenth day). Asthmatic symptoms, slight (fifteenth day); quite strong (seventeenth day). Seemed to relieve slightly the asthmatic breathing, and reduce the attendant coryza and mucous secretions.
 Chest.
 Dull pain in right lung, front (immediately), (seventeenth day). Sharp pain in right lung in front, near nipple, occurring at short intervals or upon sudden changes of position, lasting three-quarters of an hour, at 8 p.m (fourth day).

 Quivering of little finger of left hand, also constant twitching of abductor muscles of wrist, when the arm was flexed and lying on the desk, as in the act of writing, at 6 (fourteenth day).
 Inferior Extremities.
 Rheumatic pain in calf of right leg at 6 (third day).

 Feel sick all over (seventh day). Verbal reports of provings give the aggravations as in the afternoon.

 Skin.
 In morning, covered with a scarlet rash, which lasted four or five days (second day).

 Slight fever; for fifteen minutes cheeks flushed and burning, with slight dizziness at 10 p.m; fever again, face more flushed, at 5 (twelfth day).

 Conditions.
 Aggravation (Morning), On rising, foul mouth.
 (Afternoon), Soreness of testis.
 (Running), Sickness at stomach.
