Common symptoms

Bism exerts its chief action on stomach and alimentary canal, causing catarrhal inflammation. Pains are tearing, pinching, burning, screwing. Sensation of heaviness in internal parts. Prostration. Affections, after abdominal operations.

Modalities

Eating, over eating.
Cold; drinks; applications. вending backwards. Motion.

Mental

Apathetic. Discontented; complains about his condition. Desire for company; children hold on to mother’s hand. Anguish; never long in one place or position. Fickle minded.

Head, face, and ears

Cutting or pressure above (right) orbit extending to occiput worse eating, better cold; alternating with gastric pain. Headaches return in winter.
Eyeballs ache. Thickened mucus in both canthi.
Bleed, dark blood. Heaviness at the root of the nose.
Earthy; blue around the eyes. Pain in cheek bones better running about and holding cold water in mouth. Face pale and cold. Face pain alternating, with gastric pain.

Mouth and throat

Flatulence. Prostration; after stool. Painless diarrhoea, with thirst and frequent vomiting, and micturition. Painless discharge of blood from rectum. сholera infantum, when the body remains warm.
