Description

 Швартами называют грубые фиброзные изменения сетчатки и стекловидного тела. Чаще всего они образуются после перенесенной травмы глаза, кровоизлияния или обширного воспалительного процесса. Формирующиеся соединительнотканные тяжи (сращения) между сетчаткой и стекловидным телом приводят к натягиванию сетчатой оболочки и возникновению ее отслойки.Для предупреждения этого процесса или остановки начинающейся отслойки сетчатки в офтальмологии применяется лазерная швартотомия - разрушение существующих сращений при помощи лазерного излучения. При необходимости она дополняется лазерокоагуляцией в зоне начавшейся отслойки. Осложнением процедуры может быть кровоизлияние, невозможность полного удаления фиброзной ткани при выраженном склерозировании.
