Он заключается в многократном промывании полости кармана антисептическими растворами (хлоргексидин) и антимикробными препаратами (микроциды, йодинол и ). Для удаления гнойно-некротических масс карман промывают растворами протеолитических ферментов (трипсин, лизизим). Он также используется в кармане турунды с лекарственными веществами.
