 Остеосинтез стержня предплечья с использованием стержня или аппарата Илизарова выполняется с открытыми и закрытыми переломами кости предплечья с вывихом, с вторичным смещением, медленной адгезией отломков и ложных суставов. Методика позволяет получить хорошие функциональные и анатомические результаты. Ограничение в использовании устройств накладывает массивность металлических конструкций и сложность их монтажа. Проксимальные и дистальные кольца устройства расположены рядом с локтевым и лучезапястным суставом, препятствуя движению, что может привести к развитию контрактуры во время лечения.
