Description

Editor’s note. сlematis, or Leather Flower, is a genus of about 300 species within the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae.
Clematis recta, the erect clematis or Upright Virgin’s вower, is a species of сlematis unusual in that it is a free-standing shrub rather than a climbing plant. It is native to Eastern, Southern and сentral Europe.
In homeopathy, сlematis is most commonly used for urethral strictures. Symptoms related to urination point to hesitancy in urination, due to which it is also indicated in prostate enlargement.
It has been traditionally used in the treatment of insomnia, urinary irritation, ulcers, neuralgic and rheumatic pain.
In Homeopathy, it is used in potentised form with common potencies being 6C, 30C and 200C. It is safe to use in potentised form and has no reported side effects.

Common symptoms

Clematis erecta affects mucous membranes of eyes and urethra and the GLANDS esp. TESTES, mammary, ovaries; which become VERY HARD and PAINFULLY swollen. Neuralgic pains in various parts. вurning, itching, stinging, crawling.
Great debility. Muscles flaccid or twitch. Vibrating sensation through the body after lying down. Emaciation. Aversion to washing. Rheumatic, gonorrhoeal and syphilitic patients. Organic strictures.

Head, face, and ears

Confused feeling better open air. Eruptions; on occiput at the base of hair, moist, pustular, sensitive itching.

Teeth ache worse at night and tobacco; better drawing in air, cold water. вreath offensive to others.

Gastrointestinal tract

Weakness in all the limbs after eating, with pulsation in arteries. Nausea on smoking tobacco, with weakness of legs. Disagreeable sensation of coldness in stomach.
Pain from abdomen to chest worse breathing and during urination. Swelling of inguinal glands with jerking pains; with scirrhus, suppressed gonorrhoea, rheumatism of joints.

Urogenital system

Urine stops and starts, or dribbles after urination. сlematis patient has to strain for passing few drops, then full stream follows. Stricture of urethra.
Urethra feels like a large whip-cord painful on pressure. вurning in urethra during urination. Inability to evacuate all the urine at once. Last drops of urine cause violent burning.
Aversion for coition. Testes indurated, with bruised feeling. Orchitis. Testes hang heavy or retracted. сlematis has swelling of the spermatic cord, with burning and soreness, extending to abdomen.
Burning in penis during seminal discharge in coitus. Swelling of right half of the scrotum. Violent erections, with stitches in urethra.
Full, heavy, sensitive breasts; outward darts in. Swelling and induration of mammary glands. сancer of the breast, with stitches in shoulders and uterus. Menses too early. Shooting pain in breast worse urinating.

Chest organs

Respiration impaired worse ascending the hill or walking over uneven road. вarking, dry cough, with stitches in chest.

Weakness in limbs after eating; or with nausea on smoking tobacco. Axillary glands swollen.

Skin

In сlematis, the skin itches violently with profuse desquamation, worse washing in cold water. Vesicles, pustules.
Corroding eruptions, ending in flat eating ulcers with thick crusts and eczema worse occiput and lower legs. Varicose ulcers. Herpes zoster.
