Interactions Esmolol with Duotrav

Dangerous interactions
In patients with heart failure receiving calcium antagonists, treatment with beta-blockers can lead to cardiac arrest. -
Negative interactions
The use of beta-blockers with moxonidine or alpha2‑agonists (for example, clonidine or guanfacine) increases the risk of rebound hypertension. Continued administration of beta-blockers reduces the risk of arrhythmia during induction into anesthesia and intubation. Special care should be taken when using beta-blockers and floctafenin or amisulpride together. When using beta-blockers, patients at risk of anaphylactic reactions may respond more actively to allergen exposure (accidental, diagnostic or therapeutic). Beta-blockers, including esmolol, caused muscle weakness. The simultaneous use of beta-blockers and hypoglycemic agents for oral administration or insulin may enhance the hypoglycemic effect of the latter. Beta-blockers can mask the tachycardia that occurs with hypoglycemia, although other manifestations may be present, such as dizziness and increased sweating. Reserpine and other drugs that deplete catecholamine reserves may have an additive effect when used in combination with beta-blockers. Concomitant use of beta-blockers with ergot alkaloid derivatives can lead to severe peripheral vasoconstriction and hypertension. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can cause a decrease in the antihypertensive effect of beta-blockers. When used concomitantly with sulfinpyrazone, it is possible to weaken the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers. Timolol and Esmolol belong to the same pharmaceutical group: Beta blockers. -
No interactions
If clonidine or moxonidine are used in combination with beta-blockers, and both effects must be stopped, the beta-blocker is first canceled, and then, after a few days, clonidine or moxonidine. -
Positive interactions
With simultaneous systemic and topical use of beta-blockers, mutual enhancement of effects is possible. -
Unclear interactions
Patients using beta-blockers may be immune to the usual doses of epinephrine (adrenaline) used to treat anaphylactic reactions. Therefore, beta-blockers can theoretically reduce the effectiveness of anticholinesterase agents in the treatment of muscle weakness.

Decoding the colors of interactions and contraindications
Dangerous | — | a pronounced negative interaction or contraindication. |
Negative | — | negative interaction or side effect that may reduce effectiveness. |
Positive | — | the interaction can SOMETIMES be used as a positive (often a dose adjustment is needed), or it is an indication of the drug. |
No | — | the drugs do NOT interact, which is separately indicated in the instructions. |
Unclear | — | the system failed to pre-assess the danger. |

Additional information
- Kiberis checks interactions and evaluates drug compatibility online right in the instructions thanks to the latest artificial intelligence technologies. The accuracy of finding is more than 95%, the accuracy of the hazard assessment is more than 80%. The online medical service takes into account all the drug groups of the selected drugs and all their components. And since the database contains 25,000 drugs with detailed instructions, not every pharmacologist can compete with our artificial intelligence. List of popular interactions.
