Interactions Ketorolac-Eskom with Warfarin
-
Dangerous interactions
Concomitant administration with anticoagulant drugs (drugs) - coumarin and indanedione derivatives, heparin, thrombolytics (alteplase, streptokinase, urokinase), antiplatelet drugs, cephalosporins, valproic acid and aminosalicylic acid increases the risk of bleeding. Concomitant administration with indirect anticoagulants, heparin, thrombolytics, antiplatelet agents, cefoperazone, cefotetan and pentoxifylline increases the risk of bleeding. Although these results do not indicate a significant interaction between ketorolac and warfarin or heparin, administration of ketorolac to patients receiving anticoagulants should be carried out with extreme caution and patients should be closely monitored. The effect of warfarin and NSAIDs on gastrointestinal bleeding is generally synergistic, so that when they are used together, the risk of serious gastrointestinal bleeding is higher than when using either of them separately. The risk of bleeding increases with the simultaneous use of NSAIDs and warfarin. -
Negative interactions
The binding of warfarin to plasma proteins in vitro'>in vitro is only slightly reduced by ketorolac (control 99.5 vs. 99.3%) when the concentration of ketorolac in blood plasma reaches 5-10 micrograms/ml. Careful monitoring of patients receiving NSAIDs is recommended to ensure that no dose adjustment of anticoagulants is required. -
No interactions
In a study involving 12 adult volunteers, oral administration of ketorolac in combination with warfarin (a single dose of 25 mg) did not cause significant changes in the pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics of warfarin. -
Unclear interactions
Warfarin, digoxin, salicylic acid and heparin. Therapeutic concentrations of digoxin, warfarin, ibuprofen, naproxen, piroxicam, paracetamol, phenytoin and tolbutamide did not alter the binding of ketorolac to plasma proteins.

Decoding the colors of interactions and contraindications
Dangerous | — | a pronounced negative interaction or contraindication. |
Negative | — | negative interaction or side effect that may reduce effectiveness. |
Positive | — | the interaction can SOMETIMES be used as a positive (often a dose adjustment is needed), or it is an indication of the drug. |
No | — | the drugs do NOT interact, which is separately indicated in the instructions. |
Unclear | — | the system failed to pre-assess the danger. |

Additional information
- Kiberis checks interactions and evaluates drug compatibility online right in the instructions thanks to the latest artificial intelligence technologies. The accuracy of finding is more than 95%, the accuracy of the hazard assessment is more than 80%. The online medical service takes into account all the drug groups of the selected drugs and all their components. And since the database contains 25,000 drugs with detailed instructions, not every pharmacologist can compete with our artificial intelligence. List of popular interactions.
