Description

 Калина (лат. Viburnum) - ягодная культура; многолетний кустарник семейства Адоксовые. Ранее род относился к семейству Жимолостные. В естественных условиях калина произрастает в субропических и умеренных зонах Северного полушария, Северной Америке, Европе и Азии. В настоящее время насчитывается около 150 видов.

Plant characteristics

 Калина - листопадный, реже вечнозеленый кустарник или дерево высотой до 4 м. Зимние почки покрытые чешуйками или голые. Листья простые, цельные, лопастные, супротивные, иногда мутовчатые, края зубчатые, имеют прилистники, расположены на черешках.
 Цветки белого, кремово-белого или розоватого цвета, собраны в крупные кисти. Соцветие простое или сложное, зонтиковидное или щитковидное. Чашечка имеет пять мелких зубцов, приросшая к завязи. Венчик колокольчатой или колесовидной формы, с узкой и удлиненной трубкой. Плод - костянка, красной, черной или желтой окраски, чуть приплюснутая.
